What You Must Know About Road Accident Claims in Queensland
Here’s the truth about road accident compensation in Queensland:
The system is designed for efficiency. Just not YOUR efficiency.
After your accident, you’re expected to navigate the CTP insurer on your own – lodge your claim within strict timeframes, battle for treatment approvals, prove your injuries, and somehow get better while fighting a system built to minimise payouts.
Most people don’t know they can access immediate rehabilitation through the CTP scheme. Most don’t realise that delays in treatment don’t just hurt your health – they devastate your claim. And most have no idea that early, aggressive medical evidence is the single biggest factor in whether you receive fair compensation or get lowballed.
Here’s what the traditional system looks like: car crash → GP → wait → physio referral → wait → find a lawyer months later → scramble to build evidence → chronic pain sets in → insurer offers peanuts.
You’ve seen it. You might be living it right now.
We built Lifestyle Injury Lawyers because that system is broken – and injured Queenslanders deserve better.
Why you need Lifestyle Injury Lawyers
Here’s what we do differently. Or more accurately: here’s what no one else does.
The quality and timing of your medical treatment doesn’t just affect your health – it directly determines the strength of your compensation claim.
Early, aggressive, strategically documented treatment does two things most firms can’t deliver:
But here’s the problem: in every other firm, your legal team waits while you scramble to find doctors, miss early treatment windows, and gather scattered evidence. By the time lawyers get involved, the damage is done – both to your body and your claim.
At Lifestyle Injury Lawyers, your treating health professionals and your legal team work as one unit from your very first call. Assessment + Treatment + Compensation. It’s not a slogan. It’s the only model that actually works.
The Only Integrated Approach to Compensation & Recovery
Lifestyle Injury Lawyers is Queensland’s first – and still only – fully integrated injury treatment and compensation law firm.
Assessment + Treatment + Compensation. Not three separate journeys. One seamless path to full recovery.
When your car accident leaves you in pain, you’re not getting better “soon.” You’re getting better now.
A senior compensation lawyer and a registered treatment professional are assigned to your CTP claim immediately. No referral delays. No explaining your story twenty times to twenty different people. No waiting months while your injuries become permanent.
We don’t just build your legal case – we actively treat you, document your recovery in real-time, and ensure every piece of medical evidence works to maximise your compensation.
This is what it looks like when medicine and law finally work together.
Your injury is an event. Your recovery is a journey. We’re with you for every step.
Queensland Road Accident Claims: The Legal Framework
Road accident compensation in Queensland is governed by the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 (Qld) and administered by the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC).
The system operates on a fault basis.
This means to claim compensation beyond basic statutory benefits, you generally need to establish that another road user was wholly or partially at fault for your accident. This could be another driver, a motorcyclist, a cyclist, a pedestrian – or even a government authority responsible for dangerous road conditions.
CTP insurance coverage: Every registered Queensland vehicle carries Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance. This covers your injuries if someone else caused or contributed to your accident.
Common law damages: Where another party is at fault, you may be entitled to claim common law damages for pain and suffering, past and future economic loss, treatment expenses, and care requirements.
Time limits apply. You must notify the CTP insurer within 9 months of the accident (or within 9 months of becoming aware you have a claim). Extensions can be sought, but delays create serious risks to your claim.
The complexity is real – but getting help is simple. We’ll confirm your exact position, explain what you’re entitled to, and build a strategy that protects both your health and your compensation.
Who Can Make a Claim?
You may be entitled to make a CTP compensation claim if you were injured as a result of someone else’s negligence in a motor vehicle accident – whether you were a driver, passenger, motorcyclist, cyclist, pedestrian, or any other road user.
Common scenarios include:
Not sure if you have a claim? That’s exactly why your first step should be a free assessment – not weeks of Googling or stressing alone.
Contact us and within one appointment, you’ll know your legal options AND have a treatment plan in place. No other firm in Queensland can offer that.
Common Road Accident Injuries We Treat and Claim For
Your occupation doesn’t limit your ability to claim workers’ compensation in Queensland. Eligible workers may be employed in various industries, including but not limited to:
Regardless of injury type: If you’ve been hurt in a Queensland road accident and someone else was at fault, you may have a claim – and you deserve treatment that starts immediately, not whenever the insurer feels like approving it.
Why You Need Us
Let’s be direct: every compensation lawyer in Queensland will tell you they’re “experienced” or “fight hard.” That’s baseline. That’s expected.
Here’s what makes us different:
We refuse to accept the gap.
The gap between your accident and treatment. The gap between your lawyer and your doctors. The gap that lets injuries become chronic, lets evidence go stale, and lets insurers offer you a fraction of what you deserve.
We exist to close that gap – permanently.
Lifestyle Injury Lawyers is the only practice in Australia where a compensation lawyer and treating health professionals work side-by-side from your very first contact. Your treatment strengthens your claim. Your claim funds your treatment. It’s one integrated system because that’s the only way injured Queenslanders actually recover fully – physically, mentally, and financially.
We’ve spent 10+ years exclusively helping people injured in road accidents. We know the CTP insurers, we know their tactics, and we know how to beat them.
Your injury is an event. Your recovery is a journey. Let’s start it together.
